According to the Deputy Commissioner, more than 355 mm of rainfall was recorded in Sialkot in 24 hours, after which water accumulated in several areas including Rangpura, Shahabpura, Dara Arian, Allama Iqbal Chowk, Prem Nagar. The DC said that according to the Meteorological Department, the rain is likely to continue for another two to four hours.
According to the district administration, there is a very high level of flood in Nala Dek and the water flow has been recorded at 77 thousand cusecs, while several villages have been submerged due to the flood and people are being shifted to safe places from the affected villages. The district administration said that there is a high level of flood in the Chenab River and the water level has reached 365 thousand, while the water flow in the Ravi River at Kot Neenan has reached 210,000 cusecs and the water flow at the Ravi River Jasar has been recorded at 142,020 cusecs. The Deputy Commissioner said that a high level of flood is currently passing through the Ravi River, while 257 people have been rescued so far from various places including Kartarpur.
