Islamabad – Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, and Secretary General, Iqbal Khan, have strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar, terming it brutal aggression and “the worst form of terrorism.”
In a joint statement during media briefings and protest demonstrations held across northern Punjab on the call of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, they said the strike on Doha was a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, describing it as a dangerous provocation that threatens regional peace and stability.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leaders criticized the silence of Muslim rulers over Israeli actions, calling it “criminal negligence.” They asserted that such indifference, backed by U.S. support for Israel, has emboldened openly violate the sovereignty of Islamic countries. They noted that the targeting of Hamas’ negotiation team had undermined international efforts for a ceasefire. “Israel’s aggression is pushing the region towards bloodshed and destruction,” they said, adding that the attack was “cowardly” and a “clear violation of international law.”
Expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people, Dr. Tariq Saleem and Iqbal Khan said that no force could suppress the voice of freedom through oppression and barbarity. They warned that after Gaza and Iran, the attack on Qatar signals that other Islamic countries may also face similar aggression if Muslim rulers and military leaders do not act. “History and the nation will never forgive this silence,” they cautioned, urging Muslim governments to unite against Israeli provocations.
