The presence of polio virus has been confirmed in 25 environmental samples from 20 districts of the country.
According to the National EOC, the virus is present in samples from 20 districts including Quetta, Khuzdar, Lahore, Multan, Nooriabad, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Bahawalpur.
The National EOC says that 35 environmental samples from 31 districts of the country have been confirmed to be negative. As a result of continuous campaigns, there has been a significant reduction in the spread of polio virus and cases.
A national polio campaign will be held across the country from April 21 to 27, during which more than 45 million children will be vaccinated.
The National EOC said that parents are requested to ensure that their children are vaccinated against polio, as continuous vaccination also increases immunity.
