Renowned columnist, Baba Gujran, senior leader of the Hazara Movement and Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab Engineer Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry has said that overseas Pakistanis are not just for employment but are strong pillars of Pakistan’s economy, national unity and identity. He said this while addressing a private event held in Dubai.
Engineer Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry said that the recent visit to Dubai, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah was actually a journey of connecting hearts, in which love, attachment and Pakistaniness were prominent. He said that the participation of Pakistanis residing in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah in the form of a convoy is proof that national spirit can be kept alive even while living abroad.
Referring to the gathering of Pakistanis from different areas in Sheesh Park, Fujairah, he said that the congregational prayers and mutual meetings proved that not any village, community or region but only one identity, namely Pakistani, was dominant here. Later, at a meeting held in Ras Al Khaimah, he paid tribute to the hard work, sacrifice and character of overseas Pakistanis.
He said that during his twenty-five years of stay in Saudi Arabia and especially in Jeddah, he had closely observed the problems of overseas Pakistanis and it was an undeniable fact that remittances are the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. He termed the hard work, patience and perseverance of the youth as the real capital of Pakistan.
Engineer Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry, while talking about the demand of Hazara province, said that this demand is not linguistic but on administrative grounds so that the people of the region get their legitimate rights. He said that Hazara has played a historic role in creating and saving Pakistan and the people of Hazara also have the first right to the benefits of other resources including Tarbela Dam. He said that this struggle is not against any city or region but for justice and equal rights.
On this occasion, all the participants in the ceremony fully appreciated the continuous struggle of Engineer Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry (Baba Gujran) to declare Gujri language as the official language of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and congratulated him.
He prayed specially for the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia and said that thanks to these countries, millions of Pakistanis are getting jobs with dignity and are supporting their families.
At the end of the ceremony, a Hazara culture was demonstrated, which included folk music and poetry. On this occasion, a large number of Pakistanis including Haji Muhammad Ayaz, Chaudhry Aamir, Saghir, Naseer, Gul Nawaz Ahmed, Tayyab, Hafiz Safiyyah, Iftikhar Ahmed, Saqib Chaudhry, Amin Ali, Naseer Ahmed, Chaudhry Saghir, Abdul Qadeer, Muhammad Sadir, Bilal Chaudhry, Rab Nawaz Chaudhry, Chaudhry Pervaiz, Zakir Ali, Safir Ahmed, Sohail Ahmed, Ishaq, Gulzar, Israr Chaudhry, Muhammad Sufyan, Tahir Shafiq, Salman Jamil Chaudhry, Mujahid Chaudhry, Adnan Liaquat, Fazal Muhammad, Rafaqat, Shaukat Mahmood, Muhammad Shakir, Sameer Ahmed, Luqman Abbasi, Saddam Abbasi, Tayyab Ali, Qayyum, Shoaib, Zakir Akhtar, Ajmal Khan, Sarl (VC Chhijian), Murtaza Awan and Faisal Naseer from Azad Kashmir Palandri participated. The hosting of Ahmed Butt (Narowal) was especially appreciated, while the role of Haji Muhammad Ayaz, Chaudhry Aamir, Hafiz Safiyyah, Qayyum, Tayyab, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseer Ahmed, Qadeer Ahmed, Faisal-ur-Rehman and Saqib Khan was prominent in the arrangements of the program.
