Islamabad – Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Dr. Tariq Saleem has said that Jamaat-e-Islami has rejected the Local Government Law of the Punjab government and declared it a black law and will also approach the court against this law and has also decided to launch a public movement. Protest demonstrations will be held across Punjab on December 7, while Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman will lead and address a major protest demonstration in front of the Punjab Assembly, which will be shown live across the country. He said, why do the PML-N and its allied parties, who call themselves a political party, want to hold local government elections on a non-partisan basis? While those who are raising the slogan of respecting the vote want the chairman to be elected through the votes of councilors instead of the votes of the people, this action of the rulers will increase horse trading and undermine the faith and conscience of the local government representatives of Punjab. Therefore, we want to ask the rulers not to disrupt the political process. They should hold local government elections on time, on party lines and elect the chairman through the votes of the people. Transferring powers to the grassroots level on a genuine basis is the system of basic democracy and it is not right to obstruct it, he expressed these views while addressing a press conference at the office of Jamaat-e-Islami Gujarat. Acting Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District Gujarat Rana Umar Siddique, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Gujarat City Raja Sajid Sharif, General Secretary Raja Naeem Khawar were also present on the occasion. Dr. Tariq Saleem said that the Punjab government’s road safety act is cruel and against the norms of justice. In this act, the fines have been increased several hundred times. Fines of Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 are being imposed for minor mistakes. The fine rate on the motorway is low and in Gujarat city it is many times higher. How will a person who does not earn Rs 2,000 to run his household pay a fine of Rs 5,000? In all over the world, where laws are enforced, first awareness and awareness are given, then warnings are given and after that fines are imposed. But the rulers of Punjab have revived the memories of the Siksha Shahi era. Citizens and residents of Chingchi are caught and locked up in police stations. He said that in a city like Gujarat where the speed does not exceed 20-30, imposing a fine of Rs 5,000 for not wearing a seat belt is sheer cruelty. This move by the rulers is nothing but to spread hatred. In the same way, helmets have become short in the market. The helmets that used to cost Rs 800 are now not available even for Rs 5,000. Dr. Tariq Saleem said, “What is the condition of the roads in Punjab? Do the rulers have the right to collect such heavy fines without fixing them?” “Have they provided transport facilities to the people in urban and rural areas? They want to end the existing Qingchi. A fine of Rs 2,000 is being imposed on pillion riders, which is unacceptable in any case.” Dr. Tariq Saleem said, “In the past, Maryam Nawaz’s elders had banned Basant, while now Maryam Nawaz herself has allowed kite flying on Basant. Even before this, many people have died due to rural roads. Can’t our rulers promote healthy activities and sports?” Somewhere there are extrajudicial killings, somewhere kite flying is allowed, and fines of five thousand rupees are imposed for many minor mistakes. Governments do not work like this, it is not even called governance. We believe that the rulers should be aware of this. Otherwise, the people will come out of their homes against the rulers who do not even have a mandate in the first place. These are the products of Form 47. Then their power will end.
