ICCI and CDA Officers Association Pledge Joint Efforts for Islamabad’s Development


Islamabad,

A high-level meeting was held between the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and the CDA Officers Association, where both parties agreed to strengthen coordination and collaboration for transforming Islamabad into a vibrant and business-friendly city.

ICCI President Mr. Nasir Mansoor Qureshi warmly welcomed the delegation led by Mr. Nemat Ullah Masood, General Secretary of the CDA Officers Association. He emphasized that strong cooperation between ICCI and CDA is crucial for the city’s sustainable development and prosperity. Representing over 15,000 members from industry, trade, and services sectors, ICCI is committed to addressing challenges and facilitating a favorable business environment.

Highlighting the importance of mutual trust and consultation, Mr. Qureshi said, “Islamabad belongs to all of us. As stakeholders, we must work together to ensure that any decisions affecting the business community are taken after due consultation with ICCI.”

Mr. Nemat Ullah Masood acknowledged the vital role of the business community in national economic development and assured continuous support in facilitating commercial activities.

Founder Group Chairman of ICCI, Mr. Tariq Sadiq, raised key issues related to industrial zones and called for their immediate resolution. CDA Director General Mr. Sardar Khan Zamri stressed the importance of confidence-building measures to bridge gaps and foster institutional trust.

Former President of FPCCI and ICCI, Mr. Abdul Rauf Alam, underscored the need for inclusive and consultative decision-making and recommended that the leadership of ICCI and local markets be involved in addressing pressing civic matters effectively.

CDA Director General E&M, Mr. Waseem Sabir, reaffirmed CDA’s commitment to continue efforts toward infrastructure development and provision of essential services.

Business leaders including Chaudhry Masood, Khalid Chaudhry, Naeem Awan, Asad Aziz, Shehzad Abbasi, Raja Zulfiqar, Mahmood Warraich, and Ishaq Siyal expressed concern over deteriorating road conditions, sanitation, street lighting, and sewerage systems. They expressed hope that the discussions would lead to timely redressal.

The session was moderated by former ICCI President Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, who highlighted the importance of mutual understanding for effective problem-solving. ICCI Senior Vice President Mr. Abdul Rehman Siddiqui concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks and reaffirmed that ICCI will continue organizing such result-oriented engagements to support Islamabad’s development and enhance its business climate.

At the end of the program, ICCI President presented commemorative shields to Mr. Nemat Ullah Masood, Mr. Sardar Khan Zamri, and Mr. Waseem Sabir in recognition of their participation. The CDA Officers Association delegation also included Chairman Riaz Khan, Finance Secretary Aftab Hussain, Deputy General Secretary Akram Raja, Office Secretary Bilal Khan, Admin Secretary Abdul Raheem Gazar, Deputy Information Secretary Asghar Imam, and President of State Directorate Mr. Imran Khokhar.

The meeting concluded with a gracious lunch hosted by ICCI, after which Mr. Nemat Ullah Masood extended an invitation to ICCI President and executive members to visit the CDA Officers Association.
