EC says 4.98 lakh ballots cast from overseas, 6.68 lakh from domestic voters

Independent candidate Rumeen Farhana is leading in Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail, Ashuganj and parts of Bijoynagar).

As of 10:00pm, results from 45 out of 151 polling centres have been announced.

Rumeen, an independent candidate, contesting with the “duck” symbol, secured 34,460 votes.

Her nearest rival, BNP alliance candidate Maulana Junayed Al Habib, vice-president of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh’s central committee , contesting with the “date palm tree” symbol, received 23,226 votes.
