Voting for the 13th National Assembly elections across the country begins at 7:30 am on Thursday. Crowds of people began gathering in front of polling stations in different parts of the country before dawn. As the morning wore on, the crowds turned into long queues. The presence of voters of all ages, women, men, young, old,. Voters are exercising their franchise spontaneously. Spontaneous presence of voters was seen in the capital Dhaka and divisional and district towns since morning. Some have brought their families, some with their neighbors. 50 parties including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, National Civic Party (NCP) and Islamic Andolan Bangladesh are participating in today’s voting. The number of candidates contesting is 2,028. There are 1,755 candidates from political parties and 273 independent candidates.
