Strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Islamabad

Islamabad

Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi, President Pakistan Peoples Party Workers, Naheed Khan, Political Assistant to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Fayyaz Khan, Senior Vice President, Advocate Amjad Baloch, Vice President, Kanwar Muhammad Zahid, General Secretary Rai Qaiser, Deputy Secretary General, Hur Bukhari, Malik Mazhar Hussain, Rana Usman and Naveed Sadiq, strongly and unequivocally condemn the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack on the Khadija Imambargah Mosque in Islamabad.
This barbaric attack on innocent worshippers—who had gathered only to offer Friday prayers to bow their heads before Allah Almighty and surrender themselves to His mercy—is not just an act of terrorism but an attack on humanity. Our hearts weep for the innocent children who lost their fathers, for the brave mothers who lost their sons who were their only support, and for the helpless widows who lost their spouses and their strength in a single moment.
Mosques and Imambargahs are sacred places where the blessed names of Allah Almighty and His beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) resound. These are places where there is no distinction between rich and poor, protocol and class—only the relationship between the Creator and the creature. Targeting such a sacred place is unthinkable. Islam is a religion of peace that teaches respect for all religions and their places of worship. This kind of brutality has nothing to do with Islam.
Pakistan is bleeding today. From the mountains of Balochistan to the tribal areas and the fertile plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the people of this country are constantly suffering. Terrorist attacks have become a sad norm. Along with the civilian martyrdoms, we are equally mourning the martyrdoms of our brave soldiers, military personnel and police officers who sacrificed their lives in the defense of our beloved homeland. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
We ask the current government and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir: Enough is enough. How long will this nation continue to pay the price for the blood of its citizens, its soldiers and its police? The state has the primary responsibility to protect the lives and property of its citizens. Every section of society must be brought together immediately to completely eradicate terrorism, because this monster is eating away at the foundations of Pakistan like a termite—not only wasting precious lives but also eroding the very roots of our economy and stability.
For decades after the formation of Pakistan, law and order in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan was effectively maintained through tribal structures rather than security deployments alone. Reactivating these local and traditional systems can play a significant role in establishing long-term peace.
We express our heartfelt condolences to all the families whose loved ones have been martyred in the house of Allah Almighty, and sincerely pray for the speedy and complete recovery of the injured. May Allah Almighty grant patience to the bereaved families and grant the martyrs a place in the highest ranks of Paradise. (Amen)
Pakistan must choose life, peace and unity over fear.
