e Jamaat-e-Islami will soon launch a province-wide movemen

Islamabad – Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, has announced that the Jamaat-e-Islami will soon launch a province-wide movement targeting those in government and bureaucracy who, according to him, are obstructing the transfer of powers to grassroots levels under the local government system.
Speaking at a review meeting of district Ameers, Dr. Tariq Saleem said that Jamaat-e-Islami will initiate a comprehensive public outreach campaign, including signature drives, seminars, and protest demonstrations across Punjab. He stated that province-wide protests demanding the timely holding of local government elections will take place on December 7, with the central demonstration in Lahore to be led by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman.
Dr. Tariq Saleem criticized what he described as entrenched mafias within both the government and the opposition, alleging that they have tightened control over the public while failing to deliver essential services. He said rising electricity and gas bills have placed a severe financial strain on ordinary citizens.
Reiterating his party’s stance, he said Jamaat-e-Islami is committed to establishing a system based on the Quran and Sunnah, asserting that only such a system can address the country’s challenges. He urged the public to support Jamaat-e-Islami instead of political forces that, in his view, are engaged in corruption or act against national interests. He emphasized that public backing is essential for steering Pakistan toward becoming a truly Islamic and welfare-oriented state in line with its founding ideology.
