President Islamabad Estate Agents Association Sardar Tahir, while congratulating his community on the success of the CDA auction boycott campaign, said that the CDA auction was boycotted, after which expensive plots were sold at cheap prices. Last year, plot number 12 of Blue Area, which was sold for Rs 3.45 million per square yard, was auctioned again this year after the plot token was canceled and sold for Rs 2.71 million per square yard. He said that due to the unity of the real estate community and the coordinated strategy of the Islamabad Estate Agents Association, the CDA auction yesterday had completely failed. When the CDA faced complete failure by 3:00 pm, the Chairman CDA and the concerned officers were in deep shock. To hide their failure, they sold the plot that was sold for Rs. 32.5 million in the previous auction at a whopping price of Rs. 27.10 million per square yard, with the sole purpose of satisfying the stubborn desire of the CDA chairman to make the auction appear “successful” even though the reality is that the auction has failed miserably. Investors have completely rejected the CDA’s cruel and unwise decisions and have sent a clear message that the real estate community is united to protect its rights.
