Islamabad—- (Former and founding president of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, founding member of Islamabad Bar Association, founding member of Islamabad Press Club, former chief editor of Markaz daily and among the top ten taxpayers of the country for forty years), senior political and business leader Muhammad Muqim Khan has said that Officers of Murree Police entered his house in Sector F-6 of Islamabad without permission on May 13 and violated the sanctity of the chador and four walls, harassed him without legal justification and without leaving or entering. A complaint was filed with Kohsar Police regarding the said incident, but no hearing was held. The government should provide protection to him and his family, Muqim Ahmed Khan said while addressing a press conference at the National Press Club Islamabad along with his daughter Afira Muqim, nephew Arsalan Khurshid Khan, Ayesha Waqar Abbasi and Mian Imran. It was said that his son Umar Muqim had a business transaction with a person named Asad. During this, Asad defaulted, on which his son Umar Muqim has filed a case in the civil court. On May 13, he was leaving his house to go to the office when Murree police without uniforms and carrying guns raided his house in F63 Islamabad. The SHO threatened us to withdraw the case against a person named Asad or else we will have to face serious cases. The SHO also said that he had orders from the DPO and RPO Rawalpindi to pick up whatever was found in their house. He did not have any warrant or permission. When my daughter asked the plainclothes officers why they entered the house because there was no man in the house at that time, they did not give any answer and ran away. As soon as I reached my business center, the SHO followed me to Buland Markaz. We filed a complaint with the police and the Hisar police, but the concerned police also No action was taken. In this regard, there is no movement of Murree police in Islamabad’s Kohsar police station. The entry of Murree police without a warrant near the red zone of the federal capital Islamabad, harassing an elderly citizen raises important questions. While despite a call to One Five, no action was taken by the Islamabad police. Muqim Ahmed Khan added that he has been among the top ten taxpayers for the last forty years. My daughters and family are insecure. He has appealed to the Prime Minister, Army Chief, Punjab Chief Minister, and IG Punjab for protection of life and property. In response to a question, he said that he did not run away from the Press Club or his journalist community. When my newspaper and press were burned and vandalized by a political party, I remained silent.—
